What you don't know about hymen

Roller Membrane

Perhaps this is embarrassing for many girls and somewhat scary, which is to talk about the hymen, which is considered in our Arab world as a symbol of the purity of the girl, but now we will get to know this hymen in precise detail and scientifically in order to dispel any girl's fears about this subject.

hymen

First: The nature of the hymen:

The hymen is a thin membrane composed of thin tissue located on the outside of the vaginal nozzle and in the middle of it is a circular opening that allows menstrual blood to pass through it monthly, and this membrane tears at the first sexual encounter because the narrow opening does not accommodate the man's penis, so it expands, causing blood to come out, which may be accompanied by mild pain or no pain at all.

What is the role and function of the hymen:

Scientifically, the hymen has no role at all from a physiological and physical point of view, but it is a passage for the release of menstrual blood only from the body, and it is removed from this membrane after the first intercourse.

Note:

Some girls are born without a hymen at all, and this is normal so you should not rely on the hymen alone to determine virginity.

Also, 20% of girls do not notice bleeding after the first sexual encounter, which confirms that it is not necessary to rely on it alone to determine virginity.

What are the types of this membrane??

There are many types of hymen, not just one, and are often crescent-shaped in 75% of females. There is also a membrane with a zigzag opening that often does not tear after sexual intercourse and there is a membrane like a sieve that ruptures quickly without pain.

There is a membrane with two openings (the separated membrane) or with a single opening but it is very small.

In some rare cases, the girl needs surgery because she is born with a thick roller membrane.

There is also a blocked hymen: in rare cases, a girl is born with a thick and completely blocked hymen, that is, without an opening in the middle of it for menstrual blood to come out, so when the time of menstruation comes, the girl feels unbearable pain in the lower abdomen due to the accumulation of blood in the vagina, which requires surgery to open a gap in the membrane.

There is the rubber membrane, which is a normal natural membrane, which is distinguished from others by the many cracks on its pericardium, and it is also called the "ruptured membrane" and has the ability to expand and split without tearing, hence its likeness to rubber
